Telehealth has actually been around since the 70's. Our office has been trained on and providing Telehealth practices since 2018. It is so useful for those moments you can't step away from the office, the baby sitter calls out sick or traffic is just horrible!

Frequently Asked Questions
Is Telehealth effective?
Telehealth has been used since the 70's to help people in remote places take care of their physical health. We have continued to grow its use with Mental Health as well. Research studies have been done over the past 20 years on the effectiveness of Telehealth and have found that for many types of disorders and physical ailments Telehealth can be just as effective as traditional in person sessions. In some cases (agoraphobia, OCD and anxiety disorders) it can even be more effective.
Do I need any specialty equipment or apps?
Most people find it easy just to use their computer for Telehealth. We always recommend that you use headphones so that the session can remain private from anyone else at home. Sometimes headphones also help to be able to hear more clearly.
If you are using a tablet or phone for the session you will need to download the Simple Practice Telehealth App from your App store.
How do I prepare for Telehealth?
You will want to find a private quiet place to do Telehealth.
You will want to check your internet connection and make sure your video and audio speed is good. Simple Practice makes that easy by giving you a link right on the Telehealth page to check your internet connection.
What happens if we get disconnected?
Our Therapists will call you on your phone and discuss a plan to get reconnected. We have several options of how to navigate services and our back up plans include other Video services, phone sessions or rescheduling as needed. We will get a hold of you and walk through it together.
