Counseling Fees and Insurance
We are proud to accept many private insurances through our practice. As a practice, we are committed to providing accessible therapy services to clients.
For our insurance clients, you may see some changes to your typical copay if you pay a percentage or have not met your deductible. You can talk with your clinician if you have questions. For our private pay clients, if this change creates a financial hardship, please consult with your clinician about options for scholarship or creating a schedule for you that will help manage the cost.
Understanding Insurance
Below are some common terms that you'll see on your policy
Open Enrollment
A period during which one may freely enroll in or change one’s selection of a health insurance plan or other benefit program that is ordinarily subject to restrictions. This can occur in a company provided insurance setting or on the Marketplace. This typically happens between September and November every year, but more rarely at other times.
Deductible
A deductible is the amount you pay each year for eligible medical services and medications before your health plan starts to pay for some of your medical care.
C0-Pay
A copayment, also called a copay, is a set dollar amount a patient pays for medical expenses. Not all health plans use copays. For those that do, copays apply to certain services, while other services will typically be counted toward the deductible instead.
Co-Insurance
Coinsurance is the percentage of a health services bill that you pay after exceeding your deductible. Once you reach your deductible, you split the costs with your health insurance company through coinsurance until you reach your out-of-pocket maximum.
