Frequently Asked Questions
What is this for?
Every psychological assessment needs to be tested to make sure it is testing what we think it is. In addition we need to make sure that as many people as we can are represented in the norming data. By participating in this research you are helping us make sure that all people are represented and that the test accurately measures what they think it does. Think of it as a gift you are giving to future generations who are taking these tests!
Will I find out the results of my personal test?
No, the results are only shared with the researchers. If you are looking for results we can do that, but there is no compensation for that testing. Feel free to reach out to us on our assessment page if you want to take the test and get your personal results.
What company is the research going to?

What other "demographic" information is being sent about me?
At first, just your Your name, contact information (email/phone) and your diagnosis to qualify for the study. Once you qualify, you will provide more information like your gender, ethnicity, race, occupation, education, etc to make sure that we are putting your information in the right categories. This is one of the reasons being a part of this testing is so important. The PAI only has a gender binary option! That doesn't fit so many people! It also was tested so long ago that some of it just doesn't seem as relevant anymore! Let's make it better.
Is there a Authorization form I will need to sign?
Yes! Here is a copy. You will also be able to review it when you fill out the form.
Who gets disqualified?
People who don't have a diagnosis, people who are too young (under 18), people who are not able to consent to the research, people who do not want to share their personal health information, people who can not read the materials without assistance, could be other things too. Best bet is to fill out the form and let us help you decide.
How do I get my gift card?
PAR, inc is providing the gift cards to you. Once you complete the assessment and they receive it with the confirmation from us on any other details they will send it electronically to the email you gave them.
What if after I get started I want to withdraw?
You can absolutely do that! You will let us know and email the primary researcher and then you don't have to participate anymore.
Will this impact my treatment at Dr. Sanderson and Associates if I don't participate?
Whether you participate or not - it will not impact your treatment. This is just an opportunity not a requirement.
I have a friend who sees a therapist at a different practice - can they do this too?
Maybe! We are open to working with other practices to increase access to this research! Have them fill out the form and we'll be in touch!
