A little about me

I help adolescents and adults facing complex life challenges and mental health struggles understand what they are experiencing and help create change that fits who they are and the life they want to build.

I believe context matters. The ways we think, feel, cope, and relate to others do not develop in isolation. Our experiences are shaped by our histories, relationships, environments, identities, and the systems around us. Sometimes the patterns that are causing difficulty today developed for very understandable reasons. Rather than focusing only on what is “wrong” I am interested in understanding what you are experiencing, how you got here, and what you want to be different.

I welcome clients navigating trauma, substance use, anxiety, depression, interpersonal difficulties, and other complex or painful experiences. I know that talking honestly about these parts of life can be difficult, especially when they carry shame or fear of judgement. My goal is to create a space where you can show up honestly, without feeling like you need to have everything figured out first. Therapy with me is collaborative. We will work together to understand patterns, explore new perspectives, build practical strategies, and create changes that feel meaningful and sustainable in your life.

My approach is primarily person-centered and informed by Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and contextual and systemic perspectives. I value authenticity, curiosity, collaboration and the therapeutic relationship. I also believe there is room for humor in therapy. The work can be difficult without every moment having to feel heavy.

I am currently a fourth-year doctoral student in the Clinical Psychology program at George Fox University. I hold a Master’s degree and am pursuing my PsyD. I am supervised by my university and Dr. Sanderson. My clinical experience includes providing Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) therapy for obsessive compulsive and other anxiety related disorders at an intensive outpatient clinic as well as working with clients across the lifespan with a wide range of concerns in primary care. I have also completed trauma training and certification with Dr. Ken Logan, PysD.

Outside of therapy, I am a mom, an avid reader and almost always planning my next meal or adventure. I love getting lost in a good book, spending time with my family, playing games, and ultimately finding humor in the chaos of everyday life!
