A little about me

I help adults and older teens who are struggling with anxiety, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), life transitions, identity development, and depression. I believe in the deep resilience and uniqueness of each client I work with. This means that my counseling style does not conform to a one-size-fits-all approach. Instead, I use an integrative approach that utilizes a variety of different therapy techniques. I think that counseling is most effective when it is individualized to meet the unique counseling needs of each client that I work with.

I believe that our experiences are strongly influenced by cultural, social, and family systems, and am interested in understanding how these elements contribute to your unique story. I deeply value human connection and collaboration in my counseling work. My style can be categorized as relational, compassionate, and patient. I believe it is my responsibility to create a safe space that enables you to be vulnerable and develop trust. I am passionate about equity, inclusion, and respecting diversity in all of its forms in my work.

My approach is humanistic and person-centered, respecting you as the expert of your lived experience. I aim to walk alongside you as you process your experiences, navigate difficulties, and strive to make meaningful changes in your life. I am fond of strengths-based techniques that honor the inherent resilience and resourcefulness of clients. I help clients to identify patterns and deepen their understanding into how thoughts, feelings, and behaviors interact. I also have experience treating OCD and various anxiety presentations with exposure and response prevention (ERP) therapy.

I am currently a Doctoral level student of Clinical Psychology at Pacific University. I am under supervision from both Dr. Sanderson and my university. In my free time you can find me hiking around the beautiful PNW, listening to podcasts/audio books, and playing as much basketball as my knees will allow. I also enjoy exploring Portland’s incredible, diverse food scene.
