A little about me
I help teens and adults dealing with issues related to identity, relationship concerns, depression, self-esteem and neurodiversity learn coping skills to best manage their concerns. I believe that people require positive connections with others in order to flourish. When we have a safe space to be vulnerable and explore we can move forward and navigate the challenges of life. As a therapist, –I believe that past relationships create our expectations for future relationships and that these can be positive or negative. Negative relational images can lead to disconnection and isolation compounding barriers and creating stuckness. I also believe in the importance of cultural influences on how relationships develop. Within the therapeutic relationship I work from a lens of mutual empathy to understand and respond authentically to clients. My goal is to deepen the therapeutic relationship and my client’s relationships outside of therapy while working towards therapeutic goals. Developing personal resources and coping skills sets the groundwork for future success.
I received a Master of Arts degree in Professional Mental Health Counseling at Lewis & Clark Graduate School of Education and Counseling. I have experience working with youth and adults of all different backgrounds as well as working in community mental health with clients suffering from addiction, homelessness and criminal charges. I am currently a registered Professional Counselor Associate in the state of Oregon and am under the supervision of Kate Stidd, LPC.
In our sessions you can expect warmth, humor, empathy and challenge. I work from an eclectic approach drawing from humanistic, experiential and behavioral therapeutic modalities.
In my spare time you can find me spending time with my family, close friends or curled up with my cat. You can often find me investing in new creative projects, going for long walks, checking out books from the library, playing my ukulele or learning something new.
