Equity, Diversity and Inclusion Growth Updates
Every member of Dr. Sanderson and Associates staff is actively engaged to be a part of the change to bridge the gap in Mental Healthcare System. Both individually and collectively as a team we are doing our own work and challenging ourselves and the community to change the system.
We commit to reporting our progress (although this is not an exhaustive list of everything we are doing) in getting involved in personal growth and the local, state and national efforts to create systemic change.
Several members of Dr. Sanderson and Associates are reading (or listening to) an intense and amazing book called
400 Souls an Anthology of Slavery and Racism by editors, Ibram X. Kendi and Keisha N. Blain.
Stop Asian Hate
In a team meeting recently, Dr. Sanderson and Associates discussed the sad truth of anti-Asian hate that has plagued our country and community for so long. We stand with the AAPI (Asian American and Pacific Islander) community and recognize that we need to educate ourselves, raise awareness and provide support in order to address these ongoing tragedies to the AAPI community.
Suicide Resiliency and Risk
Dr. Sanderson attended a training recently (virtually, of course!) on Suicide Resiliency and risk among Transgender and Gender Diverse Patients. The speakers for this were AMAZING and really gave practical, supportive and holistic tools to help people.
George Floyd Murder Trial
Pacific University Supervisors group sent out an amazing resource for Professionals, Parents, Teachers and really - just everyone - about practical things to think about and talk about with the George Floyd Murder Trial. This list was originally posted in the APA’s (American Psychological Association) Society for Clinical Child and Adolescent Psychology.
